However, there are also women working at this place. Staar, 30 female, will share you her story about working at warehouse.

What was your job at your work?

At warehouse, I put together all the packages which should be delivered to convenience stores.

First, I have to search the goods to send out to convenience stores. I searched the boxes of waters or sweets by checking the bar-code on it.

Next, I put all the goods on the cart and bring it to the designated place. Once all the goods are ready to go, I scan the code to make sure if there are anything missing or wrong.

What Japanese phrase was the most useful at your work?

When I started to work, I didn't know what I am supposed to do, so I often said "すみません、教えてください (Excuse me, please teach me.)" And, I also used "ありがとうございました (Thank you very much)" a lot.

Since I had to ask people many times, I used "Thank you very much" quite often to show my appreciation for their support. I think "Excuse me" and "Thank you" is the very important phrase at any work place.

What kind of skills you gained at work can be used on your life?

I learned to identify the goods I need very fast from many kinds of goods. I also got some muscles as I have to lift goods with some weight.

I learned how to lift heavy goods and how to pile many goods. I became good at controlling heavy cart, and I use this skill when I do big shopping at supermarket.

What did you like at your job?

The more I got used to it, the faster I could work.

There were no target at my work, but once I was able to work as fast as other colleagues, I felt a sense of achievement very much. When I was able to work fast, I left my work with sense of achievement and rewarding.

Were there any hard time at your job?

It was not very lively place as many people work by themselves. I felt hard not to speak with others as I have to work alone.

It was not hard, but you have to be careful when you work at warehouse. When I had to carry heavy goods, I was nervus because I had to pay attention the goods not to be fallen out. I also needed be careful not to hit other colleagues or my legs when I used cart.

*Depends on the warehouse you work, there are light package and heavy package. If you handle those package poorly and drop them off, it will cause some injuries. Be careful when you work at warehouse.

Are there any advise from you?

If you have a confidence on your stamina, this is a work for you.

If you don't have any experience to work at warehouse, you will get some support by others until you get to used to it. So if you can show your appreciation to your colleagues for their support, you are totally fine.
